Add or Changing a Listing to Our Resources Section

ATTENTION: Pet Loss Counselors, Support Groups and Hotlines; Pet Cemeteries and Crematories

There is no charge for adding a "basic" listing of your service to our state-by-state guide to pet loss resources. A basic listing includes:

  • Your name (or the name of your organization)
  • Address
  • Telephone number(s) (we generally don't include fax numbers)
  • Website (if any) and e-mail (if any)
  • For support groups, please include the dates and times of meetings, location (if not the same as the organization address), and any necessary contact info such as the organizer.

To be included in our resource directory (or to include an organization that is not your own, such as a cemetery that you've dealt with that is not on our list), simply e-mail this information to Moira Allen, OR go to http://www.pet-loss.net/adlink.shtml and access and complete our online form.

We now also offer expanded listings, in which you can provide up to 100 words describing your service or organization (including contact information), for a one-time fee of $25. Please click HERE for examples of expanded listings. Expanded listings will still be listed alphabetically by town but provide a great way to set your information off from the rest.

To request an expanded listing, please go to our form at http://www.pet-loss.net/adlink.shtml, where you will be able to provide the complete text of your listing and choose a payment option. Or, you can simply e-mail that information to the address above. We accept payment by check or PayPal; no expanded listing will be posted until payment is received.

Updating or Changing a Listing

We are always happy to update, change or correct our listings. If you wish to update your own listing, send us the corrections needed (e.g., "please change my e-mail to....") Be sure to include the state and city under which you are listed. I will not search 50 pages for "Happy Acres Pet Cemetery"!

If you know of a listing that is incorrect -- e.g., you've tried to call one of the organizations listed and the phone is disconnected -- let us know and we'll udpate or remove the listing.

If you have a bad experience with a resource listed on the pet loss support page, please let us know! We will treat all complaints on a case-by-case basis. We do not endorse any of the resources listed here; they are provided purely as a guide to what is available. However, if we learn of problems with a resource, we definitely don't want to continue listing it.

When Changes Take Effect

New listings and changes to existing lists will be updated no later than the end of the month in which they are received, so if you don't see your listing right away, please be patient!

For more information, contact Moira Allen.

Would you like to link to us?

We welcome links back to the Pet Loss Support Page. We cannot always guarantee a reciprocal link, as we only offer links to sites that offer a significant amount of information or resources specifically on the subject of pet loss. If you'd like to add our link, however, there is no need to contact us for permission. You are also welcome to use the button at left to accompany the link.

When a pet dies, you want help... fast!

You'll find it in Moira Allen's Coping with Sorrow on the Loss of Your Pet. In a book filled with comfort, compassion and support, you'll find the tools and tips you need to:
  • Understand the feelings you're going through -- and find ways to ease the pain
  • "Say good-bye" with memorials, tributes and other coping strategies
  • Help your children and other family members deal with their grief
  • Deal with people who "just don't understand"
  • Help surviving pets cope with the loss of a missing companion
  • Come to terms with the guilt we so often feel when a pet dies
  • Handle the agonizing decision of euthanasia
  • Choose the best and most comforting "final resting place" for your pet
  • Determine when and how to bring a new companion into your home (how soon is too soon?)
  • Improve your chances of recovering a lost or stolen pet
  • Help a friend cope with loss
