Add or Changing a Listing to Our Resources Section
If you are a counselor or operate a support group, cemetery or crematory and you would like to add your listing to our state-by-state guide of pet loss resources, please send an e-mail to
Moira Allen with the following information:
- Your name
- The complete mailing address of your organization or company, including street, state and zip code (or country info if not in the US)
- Your phone number in the following format: (XXX) XXX-XXXX.
- Your website if you have one (please include the http:// -- e.g., "http://www.mywebsite.com")
- Your e-mail if you wish it to be included
That's all we need! If you wish to list a support group, you may also include the dates and times that the group meets and the location if it is different from the contact information. Please take a look at our current listings for guidance.
If you would like to list an organization or service that is not your own -- e.g., you've just had a positive experience with a pet cemetery that we haven't listed -- just send us the information above and we'll be happy to include it.
Updating or Changing a Listing
We are always happy to update, change or correct our listings. If you wish to update your own listing, send us the corrections needed (e.g., "please change my e-mail to....") Be sure to include the state and city under which you are listed. I will not search 50 pages for "Happy Acres Pet Cemetery"!
If you know of a listing that is incorrect -- e.g., you've tried to call one of the organizations listed and the phone is disconnected -- let us know and we'll udpate or remove the listing.
If you have a bad experience with a resource listed on the pet loss support page, please let us know! We will treat all complaints on a case-by-case basis. We do not endorse any of the resources listed here; they are provided purely as a guide to what is available. However, if we learn of problems with a resource, we definitely don't want to continue listing it.
When Changes Take Effect
Effective August 2007, we will be updating the website monthly -- generally, the last week of the month. New listings and listing updates and changes will be added at this time, regardless of when received.

Moira Allen.

Would you like to link to us?We welcome links back to the Pet Loss Support Page. We cannot always guarantee a reciprocal link, as we only offer links to sites that offer a significant amount of information or resources specifically on the subject of pet loss. If you'd like to add our link, however, there is no need to contact us for permission. You are also welcome to use the button at left to accompany the link. |

Pet loss brings a host of painful questions:
- Am I the only person who feels this way?
- What is "normal"? Am I "crazy" to be hurting so much?
- How can I work through the pain I'm feeling?
- What should I tell my children about the death of our pet?
- How do I know whether it's "time" to euthanize a pet?
- Will my other pets grieve for the loss of their companion?
- What do I do if my pet is lost or runs away?
- How can I protect my pets in an emergency?
- How can I help my family cope?
- What should I do with my pet's remains?
- What if I have to give up my pet?
- When should I get a new pet?
